Fall Fun and Homecoming Spirit: What’s Happening in Livonia and Metro Detroit (Sept. 22–26, 2025)

As the first full week of fall sets in, Livonia is buzzing with activity. From city meetings and family-friendly programs at Greenmead, to homecoming celebrations at Stevenson and Clarenceville, the community calendar is full of opportunities to get involved, cheer on our local teams, and celebrate the season. Add in major concerts, sports, and shows across Metro Detroit, and it’s clear there’s something for everyone.
Civic and Community Highlights
Livonia’s civic life is active this week. The Arts Commission Meeting takes place at the Kirksey Recreation Center on Monday, Sept. 22, ahead of the City Council’s Regular and Study Meetings later that evening at City Hall. For families and nature lovers, Greenmead Historical Park hosts “Birds of Prey!” on Tuesday, Sept. 23, featuring hawks, owls, and falcons in an interactive educational program.
College Life in Motion
At Schoolcraft College, the always-popular School Daze Fall Festival returns Sept. 22–23, giving students the chance to connect with clubs and organizations. Later in the week, the VistaTech Center hosts the On Stage Alaska travel presentation (Sept. 24) and a Hands-On Careers Hiring Event (Sept. 25).
Madonna University kicks off the week with a flu vaccination clinic on Sept. 22, followed by a men’s soccer match against Defiance College on Sept. 24.
High School Pride and Homecomings
Fall means football, parades, and pep rallies in Livonia’s high schools.
- Franklin High School’s week includes multiple soccer and football matchups, with their varsity football team facing Belleville at home on Friday, Sept. 26.
- Stevenson High School is in full Homecoming Spirit Week mode, with daily events leading up to Friday’s pep assembly and their Homecoming game against Churchill that night.
- Churchill High School will be on the road at Stevenson for that highly anticipated matchup.
- Clarenceville High School celebrates Homecoming Friday, Sept. 26, with a parade at 6 p.m. and a football game at 7 p.m. against University Prep Academy.
Metro Detroit: Music, Sports, and More
Beyond Livonia, the Metro Detroit region is packed with entertainment this week. Louis C.K. performs at the Fox Theatre on Wednesday, while The B-52s & Devo bring their Cosmic De-Evolution Tour to Pine Knob on Thursday. On Friday, fans can choose from country star Lainey Wilson at Pine Knob, Sleep Token at Little Caesars Arena, or Atif Aslam at the Masonic Temple. Families won’t want to miss Disney on Ice: Frozen & Encanto, also at Little Caesars Arena on Friday morning.
And for sports fans, the Detroit Tigers return to Comerica Park on Friday evening.
