Touch-A-Truck Returns to Livonia August 23, 2025

One of Michigan’s most beloved family events is rolling back into Livonia this summer. The Churchill High School Interact Club, with the support of the Livonia AM Rotary Club, will once again host Touch-A-Truck 2025 on Saturday, August 23, from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM at Greenmead Historic Village (20501 Newburgh Rd, Livonia, MI 48152).

This free, hands-on experience invites children and families to climb, explore, and learn about vehicles of every kind—public service, emergency, utility, construction, landscaping, transportation, delivery, military, and even some just plain fun and unusual. Kids can sound horns and sirens, meet the people who operate the machines, and sit behind the wheel of their favorite vehicles.

For families with sensory sensitivities, a special “quiet time” will be offered from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM, when horns and sirens will be paused to create a more comfortable environment.

Event Growth and Impact

What started seven years ago as a Churchill sophomore’s idea has grown into the largest Touch-A-Truck event in Michigan, drawing thousands from across the state. Organized and led by more than 65 students in Churchill’s Interact Club, the event has become both a community favorite and a leadership opportunity for young volunteers. Last year alone, nearly 9,000 attendees enjoyed over 80 vehicles, multiple food trucks, and live demonstrations—including fire trucks, police units, helicopters, historic vehicles, racecars, tow trucks, and even a hot air balloon.

Supporting the Community

While admission is completely free, a $5 parking donation is requested. Proceeds support community organizations such as the Livonia Police and Fire Departments, the LPS Education Foundation, Wayne County Mounted Patrol, and charitable groups like VT Seva and ShelterBox. In 2024, the event raised over $10,000 that went directly back into the community.

With its combination of family fun, community impact, and youth leadership, Touch-A-Truck has become a Livonia tradition that grows bigger and better every year.
