Livonia United Girls Hockey: A Historic Season of Firsts

The 2025-26 winter season has been nothing short of legendary for the Livonia United (LU) girls hockey program. Now in its ninth season, the team has officially moved from a "program to watch" to the team to beat, clinching their first-ever Division Championship and heading into the postseason with a target on their backs.
Leading the Charge
The backbone of this year’s success is a veteran group of seniors who have been through the highs and lows of the program. All currently in their third year with the team, these seniors share a unique bond: every single one of them serves as a Captain.
This collective leadership has been pivotal in navigating the pressures of a championship run. Whether they are grinding out a win on the ice or fostering team chemistry in the locker room, these captains have set a gold standard for what it means to lead LU.
A Historic Milestone
While every season has its wins, this year marks a monumental turning point for the program. For the first time in its nine-year history, Livonia United has secured the title of Division Champions. This isn't just a local feather in their cap; their dominance has been recognized at the state level. LU enters the State Playoffs as the #1 seed for Division II, a position that reflects their consistency, skill, and grit over the past few months.
