The Steven High School Girls Golf team celebrated a spectacular season, showcasing remarkable improvement and claiming dual championships under the leadership of Coach William Bond.
The team finished the season with a stellar 7-0 record, an unblemished mark that underpinned their competitive success.
Championship Highlights
The Steven girls solidified their status as the premier golf program in the area by securing two major titles:
- KLAA East Division Champions: The team successfully reclaimed the KLAA East Division title, demonstrating their consistency and dominance against league rivals.
- City Meet Champions & City Champs: The team swept the local competition by taking home the City Meet trophy. They achieved this feat by winning three out of four events and placing second in the remaining one. They further cemented their local supremacy by winning both head-to-head matches against city rivals to be crowned City Champs.
Dramatic Improvement
A core driver of the team’s success was the massive individual improvement among the returning players. According to Coach Bond, the returning members collectively dropped over 21 strokes off their average this season, a testament to their dedication and hard work throughout the year.
Tournament Achievements
The team also proved their competitive mettle in non-league tournaments, earning top finishes against broader fields:
- 3rd Place at the Patriot Scramble
- 3rd Place at the Hudson Mills Blue & Gold Tournament
