The Livonia Franklin Patriots are making plenty of noise early in the 2025-26 boys basketball season, racing out to a 7-1 start that has the local community buzzing. Under a disciplined system that emphasizes ball movement and aggressive perimeter defense, the Patriots have already secured more non-conference wins than many anticipated this early in the year.

The season began with a statement 73-38 victory over Melvindale, a game in which the Patriots recorded 22 assists—their highest mark in over a year. The winning streak extended through mid-December, featuring a grit-and-grind 54-44 win over Lakeland. Though the team suffered a setback against a sharp-shooting Dearborn squad on December 18, they bounced back immediately with a 19-point victory over Airport and a thrilling three-point win against Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard to close out the calendar year.

As the calendar turns to January, the road ahead gets steeper. The Patriots will spend much of the month navigating the treacherous waters of the KLAA, including highly anticipated rivalry matches against Livonia Churchill and Stevenson. If the early-season synergy between seniors like Owen Poisson and scoring leaders like Dominic Goines is any indication, the Franklin faithful have plenty of reasons to remain optimistic about a deep post-season run.
