Livonia Thrive: Weekend Watch – Every Event You Need for October 25-26

LIVONIA10/24/2025

The final weekend of October, the 25th and 26th, promises a full slate of activities, proving that there is no shortage of community spirit and entertainment in and around Livonia. From local fall traditions to a host of major concerts and sporting events downtown, this weekend is your guide to embracing the autumn season.

Local Livonia Focus: Harvest, History, and Hands-On Fun

Livonia residents have a diverse offering right in their backyard. The perennial favorite Pumpkin Fest & Haunted Barn Stroll returns to the Wilson Barn all weekend. The festival grounds offer free admission, featuring food trucks, hay rides, a petting zoo, and more. The gentle Haunted Barn Stroll runs from noon to 6:00 PM on both days for a small fee.

For a specialized local experience, the Call to Holiness Conference 2025 is being held at Laurel Manor on Saturday. Additionally, food enthusiasts can participate in a Fall Charcuterie Workshop at BYOC on Saturday afternoon, learning to craft a seasonal board complete with a curated wine flight.

Family Fun and Community Gathering

Saturday morning is dedicated to Livonia’s children. The city’s Parks and Recreation department presents the Candy-Go-Round (Trick-or-Treating) in the Kirksey Recreation Center South Parking Lot. This free event for ages 2–12 requires pre-registration and is perfectly paired with the Livonia Public Library's Haunted StoryWalk® at the Bennett Civic Center Library West Lawn, with a shuttle running between the two locations. For those looking for more Halloween fun on Sunday, a community Trunk or Treat is scheduled at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church.

Metro Detroit’s Grand Opening, Sports, and Culture

Detroit takes center stage this weekend with the Grand Opening of the new Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park. This free, two-day event hosts the Detroit Harvest Fest & Food Truck Rally, featuring four live entertainment zones and a Games Grove.

Sports fans can choose between the rivalry football game of the Michigan Wolverines at Michigan State Spartans in East Lansing or the Detroit Red Wings vs. St. Louis Blues game at Little Caesars Arena, both on Saturday night.

Culturally, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) hosts multiple performances: the Tiny Tots concert, Pirates! The Quest for Blackbeard's Treasure Family Concert, and the evening's The Three Mexican Tenors concert, which also has a Sunday matinee. You can also catch the 16th Annual Detroit Fall Beer Festival at Eastern Market or the ongoing Hallowe'en in Greenfield Village.
