The week kicks off with important civic engagement, as the Capital Outlay and Infrastructure Committee holds its public meeting at Livonia City Hall on Monday, October 13th, at 7:00 p.m. Mid-week, the Library Commission will convene on Wednesday, October 15th, at the Bennett Civic Center Library at 6:30 p.m., offering residents a glimpse into the local library's operations.
As Friday, October 17th, approaches, the community spirit shines. Seniors can look forward to the popular $1 Senior Ice Cream Social at the Civic Park Senior Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. And for families ready to embrace the Halloween spirit, Greenmead Historical Park hosts its Shadows from the Past Halloween Walk from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., offering a delightful, self-guided trick-or-treating experience. Scholastic Showdowns & Campus Connections
Our local high schools and colleges are gearing up for a lively week of athletics and academic events.
Clarenceville High School has a packed schedule, including Freshman, JV, and Varsity Volleyball away games on Tuesday, October 14th. The school will also host Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 16th, and Friday, October 17th (the latter being a student-free day). Football fans can catch the JV Football team away at Whitmore Lake HS on Thursday, October 16th, and the Varsity Football team at home against Whitmore Lake HS on Friday, October 17th, at 7:00 p.m.
Livonia's own high schools will also be in action. On Thursday, October 16th, Livonia Franklin's Freshman Football team will face Livonia Churchill at Franklin High School Stadium. The highlight for many will be Friday, October 17th, with two major varsity football games. Livonia Franklin will travel to face Livonia Churchill at Churchill High School Stadium, while Livonia Stevenson's Varsity team hosts Dearborn at home.
