Livonia's Week at a Glance: Civic Life & Industry Insight

The week begins with important civic activities right here in Livonia:

Livonia City Council Meetings will take place on Monday, September 8th at City Hall Auditorium (33000 Civic Center Drive). The Regular Meeting is scheduled from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., followed by a Study Meeting from 8:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. These public meetings are where city business and agenda items are discussed. Please note, the Committee of the Whole meeting previously scheduled for 6:00 p.m. has been canceled.

On Tuesday, September 9th, at 5:30 p.m., the Commission on Aging will hold a public meeting at the Jack E. Kirksey Recreation Center (15100 Hubbard).

Also on Tuesday, September 9th, in the evening, the Planning Commission / Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) will convene at City Hall for meetings covering city planning and zoning-related topics. Times may vary, so residents are encouraged to confirm specific agendas.

Livonia is also proud to host the DVN (Detroit Lighting) Workshop / Expo on Tuesday, September 9th, and Wednesday, September 10th. This significant trade conference and expo for the automotive lighting industry will take place during daytime hours at Laurel Manor (39000 Schoolcraft Rd).

For students and lifelong learners, Schoolcraft College kicks off its 11-week semester on Monday, September 8th, with the first day of classes.

Livonia's local high schools and Madonna University are geared up for an exciting week of athletic competition and school events:

Madonna University Men's Reserve Soccer has an away game on Monday, September 8th, at 7:00 p.m. against Siena Heights University in Adrian, followed by a home game against Spring Arbor University at the Madonna Athletic Complex in Livonia on Friday, September 12th, at 3:00 p.m.

Clarenceville High School Football varsity team will play an away game against Walled Lake Central on Friday, September 12th, at 7:00 p.m.

Clarenceville High School Boys Varsity Soccer will have a home game against Southfield Christian on Thursday, September 11th, at 7:00 p.m. at David B. McDowell Field at Shaw Stadium.

Livonia Stevenson High School Football varsity team plays an away game against Belleville on Friday, September 12th, at 7:00 p.m. at Belleville High School.

Livonia Churchill High School Football varsity team will host a home game against Wayne Memorial on Friday, September 12th, at 7:00 p.m. at Livonia Churchill High School.

Livonia Franklin High School Football varsity team faces an away game against Fordson High School on Friday, September 12th, at 7:00 p.m.
